treatment!<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1713e68 elementor-widget__width-initial elementor-widget-tablet__width-initial class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Every year, approximately 12,000 pregnant women in Quebec receive anti-D immunoglobulin as a preventive measure against hemolytic disease of the newborn and fetus. This disease can occur when the fetus has an RhD-positive blood type, unlike its mother. The mother\u2019s immune system may then develop antibodies against the fetus\u2019s red blood cells, which it mistakenly perceives as a threat.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-421ef49 elementor-widget__width-initial elementor-widget-tablet__width-initial elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"421ef49\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Currently, since the baby\u2019s blood type is unknown before birth, all 12,000 women in this group receive anti-D immunoglobulin. However, for about 5,000 of them, this treatment is unnecessary.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f04ff37 elementor-widget__width-initial elementor-widget-tablet__width-initial elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"f04ff37\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Having received an official mandate from the Ministry of Health and Social Services, H\u00e9ma-Qu\u00e9bec has launched the Fetal <em>RHD<\/em> Project, which aims to provide access to an analysis that determines whether the fetus\u2019s blood type is RhD-positive or RhD-negative. All the mother needs to do is have a simple blood test at the beginning of her second trimester.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-143d49f e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"143d49f\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-9c5be32 level<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-31fd78e e-con-full e-flex e-con e-child\" data-id=\"31fd78e\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-6c77f7d e-con-full e-flex e-con e-child\" data-id=\"6c77f7d\" class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>This means that <b>12,000<\/b> pregnant women will undergo the analysis each year, or about 200 analyses per week.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3b36e2c e-con-full e-flex e-con e-child\" data-id=\"3b36e2c\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-aa48088 elementor-widget__width-initial elementor-widget class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>All analyses will be conducted at H\u00e9ma-Qu\u00e9bec\u2019s headquarters in Montreal.<\/p><p>The goal is to incorporate this new analysis into the prenatal care of all pregnant women in the province starting in the fall of 2026.<\/p><p>The Fetal <em>RHD<\/em> Project represents a breakthrough that will help future mothers enjoy a more
